I was listening to a podcast about Mongol history to reinforce some of the basic facts and timeline covered in Weatherford. I’m not sure if the podcaster Corey Still is a real historian, but he uses primary sources we talked about in class and secondary sources by authors in Professor Al-Tikriti’s file of articles, so I think the visual aids he has on his website are sound. Here’s some links to a family tree of the Borjigins, some relevant dynasties near the Steppes, and a map of the people groups crowding the Steppes during Temujin’s childhood.
