Arabian Horses

Arabians are a big deal. Big enough to write a paper on.

The Arabian horse is a breed that originated in, you guessed it, Arabia. You can read about this majestic yet hot-blooded creature’s long and always prestigious history here which includes an excerpt on Muhammad’s view of this breed:

“The prophet Mohammed, in the seventh century A.D., was instrumental in spreading the Arabian’s influence around the world. He instructed his followers to look after Arabians and treat them with kindness. He said that special attentions should be paid to the mares because they insure the continuity of the breed. He also proclaimed that Allah had created the Arabian, and that those who treated the horse well would be rewarded in the afterlife.”

According to the Pew Institute, the Muslim population will increase to 8.1 million and surpass the Judaism population. The main reason is due to immigration and that the Muslim population is more youthful than the other religious groups.

Aljazeera Consideration

Business of hate? Islamophobia Inc. in the US

The Qatar government-owned media network Al Jazeera released a documentary (you can see it here) entitled Islamophia Inc. It’s quite thought-provoking and would make an interesting study in itself to prove or refute what it claims, beginning with asking, “How does this compare and/or relate to my own experience?”
